Issue #53: Run Your Business Like Alex Hormozi (For Free)

Tools: Claude Code

Dear Builders,

I am back this week for those that saw my last email, slightly heavier from all the gelato but made some amazing memories and my SaaS tool audience grew while I was away on autopilot so lots to be thankful for.

Now, let’s 10x your Claude Powers!

Most people read books and move on. Some take notes and try to apply what they learn, but very few actually turn that knowledge into something they can reuse consistently. This week is about changing that.

What if Alex Hormozi was inside Claude helping you build your business?

Instead of just consuming content by the people you want to emulate, you are going to turn it into something practical that you can use again and again inside your workflows.

Even better, don’t understand your clients zone of genius? Train Claude and you don’t ever need too.

Let’s get into it.

🧠 Workflow of the Week

What It Does:
This method shows you how to turn books, PDFs, and expert content into usable skill files inside Claude. These are not summaries or highlights. They are structured capabilities. Instead of trying to remember what an expert like Gary Vee said, you can access and apply their thinking whenever you need it, whether that is for your own projects or for client work.

Step 1: Set the Goal First

Before you upload anything, you need to be clear on what you are trying to achieve.

This could be building a landing page, improving outreach, creating ad creatives, or increasing conversions for a client. Once you have that, upload your book or PDF into Claude and ask it to scan the material and identify the sections most relevant to your goal.

This step ensures Claude is working from targeted expert insight rather than relying on generic knowledge.

Step 2: Generate Micro Skill Ideas

Next, ask Claude to generate skill ideas based on the material, but make sure you explicitly ask for “simple” ideas. This matters more than it sounds. Without that constraint, the output tends to become overly complex and much harder to reuse. You want micro, focused, practical skills that can be applied across different situations, not large systems that are difficult to maintain.

Step 3: Spin Up Sub-Agents

Once you have a list of ideas you like, ask Claude to spin up sub-agents to build each one. This allows each skill to be developed independently, which leads to cleaner outputs and faster progress. Instead of working through everything step by step, you are effectively building multiple assets in parallel.

Step 4: Convert to Skill Files

From there, Claude will take the structured insights and convert them into skill files. These act like small, reusable tools that you can call on whenever you need them. Rather than going back to the source material each time, you are now working with something that has already been distilled and organised for action.

Step 5: Rinse and Repeat

This is where the long-term value builds. As you repeat the process with different books and sources, you can start removing weaker skills and combining stronger ones. Over time, you end up with a tailored library that reflects the best thinking from multiple experts, adapted to your specific needs.

Why It’s Incredible

Most people collect information, but that does not create much leverage on its own. This method turns knowledge into something you can actually use.

💸 Weekend Challenge: Start Outreach Now

Challenge:
Take one book or PDF that is directly related to a valuable business outcome, such as marketing, sales, copywriting, or conversion.

Use this method to turn it into two or three simple, practical skills that you can demonstrate.

Do not overbuild. Focus on creating something you can show.

Goal:
Create and send 5–10 short Loom videos showing how you applied the skill to a real business.

Record a quick walkthrough where you:

Show their current asset (landing page, ad, offer, etc.)
Apply the skill you built
Explain the improvement in simple terms

You can say something like this:

“Hi [Name], I recorded a quick 2-minute video showing how I’d improve [result] using a framework I’ve turned into an AI workflow. Thought this might be useful.”

You are not trying to explain the system in detail.

You are showing the result and making it real.

Do not just read and move on.

Turn what you learn into something you can use.

Builders who operationalise expertise will always have an edge.

Everything else is noise.
